Manager Human Resources

Our client continues to grow and is adding a Manager of Human Resources to their team.  The First Nations Financial Management Board (FMB) has an opportunity for an exceptional hands-on senior level Human Resources professional with solid recruitment experience. This is an opportunity to join a great team and to make a difference!

Reporting to the COO, the Manager of Human Resources will act as key advisor on workforce issues affecting the organization as it continues to grow and expand. As the first and currently sole HR professional, you will develop, guide and manage the overall provision of HR services, policies, and programs for the organization. Key areas of focus will include recruitment and retention, training and development, performance management, coaching, file maintenance and any employment related issues. Moving forward, you will be tasked with developing successful practices with a focus to attract, motivate and retain talent and to support a strong workplace culture. As the organization is about to expand their mandate, one of the first priorities in this role will be recruitment related, including developing new job descriptions.

To succeed in the role, the FMB is looking for a skilled HR professional with formal post-secondary education in Human Resources in addition to six plus years of progressive hands on HR and recruitment experience. A CHRP designation would be desirable. You are known for successfully developing pro-active, tailored HR solutions that foster an employee-oriented culture where staff feel heard, appreciated and encouraged. You possess an open communication and collaborative style combined with solid knowledge of and experience with HR policies and practices, employment law, recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, organizational planning, and training & development.

This is an opportunity to join a skilled, client-focused team in a positive and fast-paced environment. It is also a unique opportunity to bring your experience to help the organization and its team to continue to make a difference to First Nations communities. Along with salary and bonus potential, this role offers an attractive benefit package that includes a group pension plan. The role is based at the FMB offices located in the Park Royal office towers in West Vancouver.

The First Nations Financial Management Board is Canada's only legislated body that develops and publishes Financial Management System and Financial Performance Standards for First Nations.
