CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Based in Vancouver BC, Peterson is a privately held, family-owned real estate company, active in investment, development, property management, capital lending and private equity. Today, Peterson has an ownership interest in over 7.5 million square feet of income-producing properties in major markets across North America (including many iconic buildings such as the Fairmont Pacific Rim, and the Shangri-La Hotels in both Vancouver and Toronto) and has an additional 5 million square feet of property currently under development. Peterson now needs to hire a CFO, reporting to the President and functioning as a key member of the executive team. This is a senior leadership role that provides input into strategic and business decisions, including an independent and challenging review of all investment opportunities. It has direct responsibility for accounting, finance, treasury, strategic planning, investor and partner relationships, private and institutional financing, risk management, administration and IT.

We are seeking a talented financial professional with a CPA qualification and good technical skills, and senior level experience (probably as CFO or direct report) in a sizeable real estate company with sophisticated reporting. Ideally this will include exposure to many aspects of the real estate business such as development, investment in income properties, financing, lending, and private equity. In addition, the role will require good people management skills.
