The Director HSE will be part of the senior operational leadership team and will be delivering on the strategic initiatives and targets set in the business plan, in compliance with the HSEC policy.  Working with his/her team, the Director HSE will oversee the design, implementation and delivery of HSE programs across all areas of the business in both Canada and the growing USA market. To ensure the operation achieves its full potential, the Director HSE will bring expertise in the delivery of professional bid responses, safety regulatory compliance, provincial compliance, and international governance.

Reporting to the CEO, this role is accountable to lead, foster and instill the HSE culture company-wide and ensure that the company remains a market leader for safety. This role will work closely with the operational leaders to develop standards, and strategies that reduce the safety, regulatory and financial risks.  In addition, the Director HSE will establish policies and practices needed to create a high performing, engaged workforce.

With a minimum of 10-15 years of related experience, as the new Director HSE, you have developed deep expertise in health and safety for industrial environments where multi-site, unionized labour is deployed. As a result, you are able to build effective working relationships with a variety of key stakeholders and clients. You have been instrumental in building and leading safety cultures and understand what it takes to ensure that safety is a number one priority.  As the successful candidate, you are a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and are willing to roll-up your sleeves to get the work done.
