Established by National Ballet of China’s Choo Chiat and Lin Yee Goh, the Goh Ballet Academy was created to pursue technical and artistic excellence and celebrate cultural awareness in the dance community.  For over 40 years, the Goh Ballet Academy and its performance group the Goh Ballet Youth Company have been recognized as the premiere dance organization in Vancouver. By offering the highest caliber of dance education and artistic experience, the Goh Ballet aims to foster talent and to inspire students to reach their fullest potential, encouraging them to transition from students to professionals.  Celebrated internationally for its success, the achievements of the Academy’s dancers at international competitions, and the visibility of its graduates who fill the ranks of world-renowned companies, reinforces the global reputation of the Goh Ballet Academy as a provider of world class training and opportunities.

Under the direction of Chan Hon Goh, the Academy’s Director and former Prima Ballerina of the National Ballet of Canada, Goh Ballet is seeking to add an Assistant Director of Operations who will work under Chan Hon Goh’s direction to oversee the business and administrative operations of the Academy. With a mission to expand the vision of the Academy in alignment with its global reputation of excellence, the new Assistant Director will oversee the Finance, HR, Facilities Management, Fundraising, Production and IT functions of the company. Key duties will include ensuring proper budgeting and financial oversight, timely reporting, development of annual plans and strategic planning, ensuring proper systems and procedures, project management, stakeholder engagement, implementation of fundraising campaign and proper mentorship of the administrative and teaching staff. The most important component is ensuring that the programs and performances are well run; leaving students and parents feeling the Academy is continuing its tradition of providing top quality training.

For this role, we are seeking experienced operational leaders who understand the complexity of running a business or department. As the ideal candidate, you are recognized in the marketplace for leading financially strong divisions where the facilities are well run, the staff are mentored and the business/department is known for developing top quality products and services. An entrepreneur at heart, this role is more than a job; it is a passion for you and the ability to contribute to the dance community.
