Our client, SPUD (Sustainable Produce Urban Delivery), was founded in 1997 in Vancouver and has grown to become one of the largest online grocery company in Canada.  Employing over 600 people across BC and Alberta, they deliver fresh, local, organic produce and groceries.  They are committed to creating healthier communities, one choice at a time, by enriching the lives of their customers, staff, suppliers and community partners. As a result of this vision, in 2015, they opened the first of five Be Fresh Local Market’s, enabling a community focused neighbourhood approach for healthy food selections where people live and work.  They are looking for a:

Director, Human Resources

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director, Human Resources will be responsible for the planning, strategizing and execution of all HR functions within the organization.  They will take a best practices approach to recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, organizational planning, and training & development and compensation.   The Director, Human Resources will have a proven track record designing and implementing cohesive HR policies and procedures in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.  Experience supporting a management team will enable you to anticipate the people requirements in a competitive, demanding industry.

 

To be considered for this role you will have formal post-secondary education in Human Resources and at least 8 years of progressive HR business experience. A CPHR designation would be considered an asset.  Your HR background should include strong generalist experience across core HR functions.  You are a solution focused and methodical problem solver with a track record of success as a business partner who provides sound advice, prioritizes well and executes on commitments. You embrace technology as a tool to enhance management practices, increase productivity, and optimize the level of service delivery. You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and doing detailed work, and are also a strong big picture, strategic thinker. You are committed to customer service and a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
