Director of Training – The Fruta Del Norte Mine, Ecuador

The Lundin Foundation is a registered Canadian non-profit organization supported by the Lundin Group of Companies (see www.thelundingroup.com). They work closely with contributing partners to create shared value and build resilient communities everywhere they operate. Lundin Gold Inc. is a member of the Lundin Group of Companies listed on the TSX and Nasdaq Stockholm under the symbol "LUG". In December 2014, the Company acquired the Fruta del Norte gold project located in southeast Ecuador. Fruta del Norte ("FDN") is one of the largest and highest grade undeveloped gold projects in the world. Lundin Gold plans to quickly advance FDN to realize the significant potential of this asset; their flagship project. Lundin Gold has contracted the Lundin Foundation to build the Training Strategy for this exciting new mine development.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of Lundin Foundation, and working closely with the Human Resources and Community Relations teams of Lundin Gold, the Director of Training will be the strategic lead and driver for the overarching Training Strategy including, developing and delivering training programs to build a skilled local work-force committed to safety, efficiency and productivity.  As the Director of Training, your knowledge of training best practices will help to leverage Ecuadorian training institutions and existing infrastructure where feasible, creating sustainable training programs through out the life of the mine. The Training Strategy focuses specifically on training for semi-skilled occupations through off-site training.

This is a unique opportunity for a highly respected Training professional with at least 10 years of international experience and leadership capabilities, ideally from the extractive industry. To be considered, you will have achieved success in the implementation and delivery of training programs and practices aimed at building a local skilled workforce. You possess a university degree in Education or a related field of study coupled with hands on knowledge of the mining & metal or oil & gas industries.  A true leader; you know what it takes to develop long lasting partnerships as well as to drive business strategy.  Finally, you will have fluency in Spanish and English backed by direct experience working in Latin American countries.

If you are at a stage in your career where a move to Ecuador is the right next step for you, then we look forward to hearing from you.  To be considered please apply, in confidence, online (resumes and cover letters must be submitted in English) or for more information please contact Lynn Armstrong or Kataneh Sherkat at WMC at (604) 687-0391.
