Director, Business Development

Our client, Premier Exhibitions, is a leading provider of travel exhibitions, with the mandate to captivate, educate and inspire through the creation of the finest quality touring exhibitions and entertainment experiences. The company currently hosts the following exhibitions: Titanic, the Artifact exhibition, Bodies Revealed, Dinosaurs Unearthed, Xtreme Bugs, SNL and Creatures of the Deep. They deliver memorable, entertaining and educational guest experiences for their clients to showcase in their venues. They are looking for a:

Director, Business Development

Based in Richmond, the Director of Business Development will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:

• Manages the bookings department to reach organizational revenue goals.
• Develops and manages the department budget and delivers on all activities.
• Implements the exhibition bookings process with the tools and resources required for lead generation, proposal development and ongoing communications.
• Manages the contracting process.
• Manages and publishes the bookings calendar and provides a weekly status update to the management team.
• Works closely with all departments including marketing, exhibition design and production to deliver detailed proposals and contracts.
• Conducts ongoing market analysis.
• Manages all aspects of annual trade show participation.
• Participates in marketing and branding initiatives.
• Creates new business partnerships and additional revenue streams

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skillset:

• 3 – 6 years of experience in a similar role
• Extensive experience in networking and relationship building
• Proven sales expertise, marketing skills and ability to develop extensive product knowledge
• Results-driven
• Proficiency with Salesforce or other CRM tools
• Current with social media opportunities in business development
• Resourceful in maximizing participation with trade associations
• Proven success on project teams
• Experience managing direct reports on a project basis
• International experience an asset
