Peterson - VP Asset Management (08718)

Vice President, Asset Management

Based in Vancouver BC, Peterson is a privately held, family-owned real estate company, active in real estate investment, development, property management, capital lending and private equity. Today, Peterson has an ownership interest in over 5 million square feet of income-producing properties in major markets across North America including many iconic buildings such as the Fairmont Pacific Rim and the Shangri-La Hotels in both Vancouver and Toronto. It continues to actively invest in real estate across North America and has an additional 5 million square feet of property currently under development. (See petersonbc.com for much more information).

The VP Asset Management position reports to the President and provides leadership, direction and strategic advice on asset management, property management, and leasing, to optimize cash flow, net income, and value of the real estate portfolio.  It manages a team of over 100 staff (through 7 direct reports) and also external service providers. In addition, as part of the executive team, this role makes a major contribution to Peterson’s ongoing strategic and organizational development.

We are seeking a very capable asset management professional with at least 10 years of relevant experience, including some at the senior management level. Ideally, experience should include a variety of asset classes, some high-profile ‘trophy’ properties, and significant repositioning projects. Strong skills in building, managing, engaging and coaching a highly effective and professional team are essential.

A fit with the Peterson culture and values and organizational approach is critical.  It is a strongly values-driven company emphasizing integrity, fostering long-term relationships, entrepreneurship, and gratitude.  These values serve as the foundation from which it does business, treats everyone it interacts with, and supports its local communities. Its management culture is based on an inclusive team approach and freedom to make decisions quickly.

This is a rare opportunity to join an already very successful and substantial real estate company, and play a key role in its further growth and development. Compensation is very attractive including a long-term incentive plan.

Please e-mail your resume in confidence to search@wmc.bc.ca, quoting file 08718, or contact Richard Savage at WMC at (604) 443-3715 for more information.
